Oh.

And a very Happy New Year to you peeps out there!

Party hard, party safe! :)

New Year's Eve.

It only happens once a year.
It's a time when hopeless can be romantic, and a resolution can become a revelation.
And when one night can change everything.

New Year's Eve.

Sometimes we wish we can wash away the past year, and focus on the new year that's coming. But sometimes, it ain't that simple. Today is just another day, like every other day. Yet once today is over, we find ourselves in the shoes of a whole new year - 2012. Here I am, sitting in the comfort of my own home, blogging away. It's the last day of 2011! Time do fly! And why am I blogging away when I could be somewhere else, doing something totally different and having fun? Because I've just watched New Year's Eve the movie and I love it! :) Not only the movie has so many famous stars in it, but it also teaches us that it's not only New Year's Eve that we have to learn to appreciate.

From Glee, Lea Michelle.

High School Musical sweetheart, Zac Efron.
(He looks so damn good looking in this movie.)

Katherine Heigl.

Halle Berry.

Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges.

Josh Duhamel.

Seth Meyers.

Robert De Niro.

Ashton Kutcher.

Michelle Pfeiffer.

and many more stars such as Hilary Swank, Jon Bon Jovi, Alyssa Milano, Jessica Biel, Russell Peters, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Jake T. Austin, Hector Elizondo, Michael Bloomberg, Matthew Broderick, and not to mention, Ryan Seacrest himself!

Synopsis
This movie, is just like Valentine's Day movie. It features the lives of several couples and singles in New York intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve.

There's always the ball drop at Times Square New York every New Year's Eve. In the movie, the ball got stuck halfway due to some electrical shortage. And what I actually like is the speech one of the character gave.

"It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps - our promises made, and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures - or closed ourselves down, for fear of getting hurt. Because that's what New Year's is all about: getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about 'what if' and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight - and it will drop - let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long."

Let's slow down, pause, stop, to reflect on ourselves, for this year, the ups and downs, highs and lows. To remember what we have gone through this year, was it good enough, or was it something you can do better. We might not be able to turn back the hands of the clock to 2011 anymore, and 2012 is just another year, no different than the other. Let's enjoy these last few hours of 2011, before the clock strike twelve, have you fulfilled your resolutions for 2011? Have you done what you wanted to do before 2012 comes?

"Remember, second chances don't expire until midnight."

Rating : 8/10

Happy New Year everyone!

“New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe,
no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted;
and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights”
- Hamilton Wright Mabie.

30 Day Challenge - Day 30.

Day 30 - Your highs and lows of this month.

There's not much highs and lows. It's almost the same thing everyday, and without realizing it, time flies past! It's coming to an end now, year 2011. And soon, it's time to say hello to 2012.

I had a good Christmas. Basically the highs for this month would be Christmas, because I have been anticipating it since the end of November! =P But the lows of this month would definitely be money issues. It got me so stressed up because I was starting to owe people money! Was so freaking broke. Sigh.

I hope my money problems will end soon.
Hopefully.
*prays*

Let's all welcome year 2012. :)

and the end to my 30 Day Challenge! :D

Oh. REMEMBER to save money! :)

30 Day Challenge

“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things." - Albert Einstein

30 Day Challenge - Day 28.

Day 28 - Something that you miss.

Think think. There's so many things that I miss. From my family to pets to friends and items. So many. I don't miss anything right now. But if I were to think of what I miss, I think it would be having pets. Reading what my friend posted on Facebook about her dog, I really felt the loss.

I miss having pets. Dogs especially. They are the only ones who will listen to you without judging, and still love you after listening to your rantings. I miss how my dog Gigi would listen to me, and still jump up to lick me in the face after. Those memories, hard to die. When I pretended to be dead, she would bark (A sharp bark mind you!) and jump on top of me and start licking me! Gosh. I really miss her. =(

Then there's Jo and Samson, and 5 puppies, which unfortunately, I don't get to see them grow up. The tears that sting her eyes and mine when I gave them away. That moment, forever etch in my mind. Jo was such a lovely dog. So cute when she was just a pup. Samson, he was a naughty one. Gosh. I can tear up right now. They were part of me, that it hurts so much I cried the whole day. Waking up to emptiness when you open the front door. I miss my doggies. I wish I can get them back.

It has been years since you all have left but always remember, you are always in my heart. Love you all.

I should get a dog again. But first, my house needs cleaning up. ><

30 Day Challenge

“A part of you has grown in me.
And so you see, it's you and me together forever and never apart,
maybe in distance, but never in heart.”

30 Day Challenge - Day 27.

Day 27 - A problem that you had.

Eating problem? Is that even considered a problem? *laughs*

I guess I go. First of all I am choosey. But I like food! I have a problem with food because it's always the toughest question of all.

"What to eat?"

Besides not knowing what to eat, have to decide what you want to eat to not put on weight is another thing! There's also eating too much, which will end up over-stuffing my fragile stomach. Oh food, why must you be so nice smelling and so taste so good? Either I really can eat, or I can't eat at all. Gah.

I've got a problem with FOOD.

Valid? :D

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." - Albert Einstein

30 Day Challenge - Day 26.

Day 26 - What kind of person attracts you.

Ah. What kind of person attracts me huh?

Someone who I can click with.
Common topics to chat about.
Sincere.
Honest.
A person who's trustworthy.
Pleasant looking.
Good hearted.
A good listener.

I value friendship very much.
Much more than you will ever know.

“Attraction is not a choice.” - David DeAngelo

30 Day Challenge - Day 25.

Day 25 - Someone who fascinates you and why.

I wonder who fascinates me. Hmmmm~ I have got no idea. This is supposed to be a Christmas post! But it's way overdue. Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you guys had a very merry Christmas, because I know I did! Different from the year before, I had Christmas songs stuck in my head 2-3 days before Christmas, and then I had the most lovely Christmas Eve with awesome friends. Even had a BBQ party on Christmas night with so many laughter and joy.

It was a Christmas to remember.

And you know who fascinates me? Myself. Because I always do things that I think I can't do but end up doing. I always do stuff I find impossible. ;P

“Never get so fascinated by the extraordinary that you forget the ordinary” - Magdalen Nabb

30 Day Challenge - Day 24.

Day 24 - Your favourite movie and what's it about.

There's too many to choose from! I'll just put the movie that comes into mind first, which will be.. Transformers? No. No. No. It'll be..

WAIT FOR IT!

Pirates of the Caribbean!

Yes!

My all-time favourite movie! :D Basically I'm so infatuated with Captain Jack Sparrow. And I just love pirates. :D Arrrr! ;)

“People don't fall in love with what's right in front of them.
People want the dream-what they can't have.
The more unattainable, the more attractive.”

30 Day Challenge - Day 22.

Day 22 - How have you changed in the past 2 years?

If I say nothing much has changed, would you believe me? Then again, would I believe myself?

I might be the same girl you know from 2 years ago. I might not be as well. I am still in the process of finding myself. Sometimes I think I have found out who I really am, yet at times, I am confused to who I am exactly. I can be someone you like very much at one moment. And I can be someone you totally dislike the next minute.

All I can say is, yes, I have changed. Maybe it's for the better, maybe it's for the worst. Maybe the changes are not noticeable, maybe it's very obvious. I am not the same person I was 2 years ago. I may be more open-minded, or maybe the other way round. Some things may still be the same, but I know deep down, I have changed. :)

“The key to change... is to let go of fear.” - Rosanne Cash

30 Day Challenge - Day 21.

Day 21 - One of your favourite shows.

Ok. First of all, I watched a few shows and most are my favourite shows. But now I am asked to choose one. Damn. How to choose when the shows you watched are the ones you like? Oh well, if I have to do it then I will.

First I was thinking of Bones, which I have always liked.

Airs every Thursday. :)

Then CSI Miami came into mind.
Because this is like the only show, out of the CSI shows that I liked.

Airs every Sunday.

But I just couldn't make up my mind! Then in came How I Met Your Mother!

Airs every Monday.
This was a show I had recently just started watching.
Out of all the shows, this one has the most comedy in it. :D

Then, I can't have this out of the list of my favourite shows!

Airs every Tuesday.
How can I miss Glee out? Glee brings people together! :D

There are others but it's only these that came into mind. I guess my all time favourite show would be Bones. Like seriously. I love watching Bones! Though I think tied together in that spot with Bones would be Glee. Gah. Whatever. Here's to my favourite tv shows. :) Cheers.

“I don't think she's a lesbian. I think she just ran out of men. [Charlotte]” - Sex and the City

30 Day Challenge - Day 20.

Day 20 - How important you think education is.

First of all, I might not have any idea what am I blogging right here right now, but it's all based on my own personal views. If you want to judge, then just click the 'x' on your top right hand corner. Thanks. :)

There's a balance between good education and the upbringing at home. Good quality education is needed nowadays to survive in this massive corporate world but without a good upbringing at home, even if you have the best education in the world, you will still have to learn the hard way of succeeding. Yes, education is important, but you need to have a good upbringing at home to be able to match with the education you receive.

I think that education is very important. They say, knowledge is power. We are always learning, until the day we die. But to have a good education, it starts from the house. Whatever your parents taught you are part of your learning education too! Never underestimate the power of education! But, sad to say, to find quality education nowadays, you have to look hard, and make sure you put in effort of your own to succeed.

No doubt, education is important, but without the right upbringing within a household, education or not, you are still a zero.

A human being is not attaining his full heights until he is educated. - Horace Mann

30 Day Challenge - Day 19.

Day 19 - Disrespecting your parents.

How the hell am I going to do that? I am finding the coming topics hard to talk about! First of all, my brain ain't designed for those kind of questions! Second, I'm just down right lazy.

I respect my parents and have got no way to disrespect them. ^^ So here I declare skipping this topic!

Wait. I ain't skipping.

This post is just late.

“Men are respectable only as they respect” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

30 Day Challenge - Day 18.

Day 18 - Your Beliefs.

They did not state what are my beliefs to be about, so it's an open topic! I have a few beliefs to actually get me through my journey of life.

- I believe life is beautiful in every way. How we choose to see it defines who we are.

- Life is a roller Coaster. There's ups and downs. Each moment makes life much more of an interesting place to live in. ;)

- I also believe that there's a story behind every person, a reason why they are the way they are.

- Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing. ;)

- Believe in yourself before believing others. (The same as love yourself before others)

- Life is a journey that only you yourself can experience it.

- I believe that negative thoughts are a choice. You can choose to snap out of it, or continue torturing yourself. (Think Barney from "How I Met Your Mother")

- I believe in asking the universe. Ask and you shall receive. ;)

- My beliefs are just part of the stuff that gets me through the day.

A man must not swallow more beliefs than he can digest. - Henry Ellis

30 Day Challenge - Day 17.

Day 17 - Your highs and lows of the past year.

I don't think I can even remember what happened yesterday or a few days ago, and you expect me to remember my highs and lows of the past year? Oh well, might as well give my lousy memory a boost.

Last year, year 2010. Was the year I went from being a Year 2 Semester 1 student to a Year 1 Semester 1 student. I jumped the boat from being a QS student to an AR student. And life as a student seems much more tougher than it was. I missed my QS mates so dearly that I practically dug out all the old photos just to see them. I remember making a compilation of certain events on them. Sometimes, love like that, I really got no idea how to express it more.

As I proceeded down this tough long road, I learned that my passion for art has always been part of my life. First semester was smooth. Second semester was joined by more people that came from Diploma next door. Suddenly the whole class became much bigger. And complications starts to arise. At the end of last year, I always, keep wanting to go back to my QS mates. I miss them so much that I became depressed. That was the downside.

Gosh. I can't really remember what happened last year. But I remember last Christmas was a nice quiet one with boyf. Before he went off to Australia to further his studies. I remember having someone to go out with every weekend, and every event I go to I have to bring him along. Because the feeling of not having him there with me to spend that moment makes me miss him. Oh well, that was the past year. And I can't really remember much already.

Let's just wait for what I have to say about this year. ;)

Everyone has highs and lows that they have to learn from, but how you handle is what makes your life.

30 Day Challenge - Day 16.

Day 16 - Your views on mainstream music.

I didn't know what mainstream music meant until I Googled it. Every night I blog at least a post or two, just so that I can schedule it to appear when it's due. Because I just do not have the time to blog on the day itself! Goodness. Am I really that busy? So all the post you see are scheduled like a week before! :P Well, let's get back to topic.

Mainstream music, which includes songs that you have heard on the radio, or anywhere that one hear, you can tell what song is that, although you are not into the artist. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, and many more. Well, I know their songs that are frequently played on national radio. But I also listen to their other songs which I some, I find it better than those played on radio!

Some people think that mainstream music is shit, lousy. The worst music ever made. They rather listen subculture music. Or that's what it's called. Need to ask Google. Actually, mainstream music is good but too much of it is a big waste of time. The sounds and tones are all the same. As long as it's nice music, from Chinese music to English, Malay to Korean, Japanese to... Oh well, you get what I mean. Anything I can shake my body to would do. ^^

Party Rock! ;)

Get Your Ass Back Home by Gym Class Heroes feat. Neon Hitch.

Oh, it's so sexy y'all

I don't know where you're going
Or when you're coming home
I left the keys under the mat to our front door
For one more chance to hold you close
I don't know where you're going
Just get your ass back home

We both knew this type of life
Didn't come with instructions
So I'm trying to do my best
To make something outta nothing
And sometimes it gets
Downright shitty in fact
When you call and I don't even know
What city I'm at

Or what day of the week in the middle of the month
In a year I don't recall
It's like my life's on repeat and the last time we spoke
I told you I wouldn't be long
That was last November now December's almost gone
I'd apologize but I don't realize what I'm doing wrong

I don't know where you're going
Or when you're coming home
I left the keys under the mat to our front door
For one more chance to hold you close
I don't know where you're going
Just get your ass back home

And you been nothing but amazing
And I never take that for granted
Half of these birds would have flew
To coop with you, you truly understand it
And the fact you stood beside me
Every time you heard some bogusness
You deserve a standing o
'Cause they'd a just been over it

Let em talk, let em talk, let em talk, let em talk
Like we don't hear what they saying
Let em walk, let em walk, let em walk, let em walk
We'll just drive by and keep waving
Cause you and I above all that
Just let em wallow in it
Now they all choked up, yuck
Cause they be swallowing it

I don't know where you're going
Or when you're coming home
I left the keys under the mat to our front door
For one more chance to hold you close
I don't know where you're going
Just get your ass back home

No one holds me down like you do, sweetheart
You keep doing that, I'll keep doing this
We'll be all right in the end
Trust that
We put the us in trust, baby
Let's go!

I don't care what you're after
As long as I'm the one, no
I don't care why you're leaving
You'll miss me when you're gone

I don't know where you're going http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Or when you're coming home
I left the keys under the mat to our front door
For one more chance to hold you close
I don't know where you're going
Just get your ass back home

I'm home baby

You'll miss me when I'm gone.

30 Day Challenge - Day 15.

Day 15 - Your favourite Tumblrs.

Alright. This will be very short. My top 3 Tumblrs that I like. :)

I ain't going to live forever.

I just want to live my life alive. ;)

30 Day Challenge - Day 14.

Day 14 - Your earliest memory.

Of what? Well, let me think.
*thinks hard*
*Scratch heads*

I don't know why but all I can go back to is when I was 12 years old. Oh wait. My memory is working! I remember when I was Standard 1! 7 years old! Oh gosh. I remember being quite naughty. I remember teacher was quite mad at some students for not doing their homework. (I think) And I was chatting away with a bunch of friends at a corner. Who knew what I was talking about and all of a sudden I stood up. (My memory is fading) Apparently all I remember is standing up from my seat, having my teacher to call me out and caned my hand. >< Go figure. I wonder what else I can remember from my childhood. Was actually searching my brain for my earliest memory that I can remember of but nothing. Only that. Oh well. Better than nothing. :)

Architecture 101 : 6

6. We move through negative spaces and dwell in positive spaces.

The shapes and qualities of architectural spaces greatly influence human experience and behavior, for we in habit the spaces of our built environment and not the solid walls, roofs, and columns that shape it. Positive spaces are almost always preferred by people for lingering and social interaction. Negative spaces tend to promote movement rather than dwelling in place.

From 101 Things I learned in Architecture School by Matthew Frederick.
