Quota ♥

There are things we don't want it to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn and people we can't live without but have to let go.

SYDNEY #1 | Of concrete jungles and unorganized roads

So I have decided to do my Sydney Trip post here instead of Dayre. (For the first time I am publicly stating here that I do have a mini blog. But I only update every Sunday.) So, looking back to those few days at Sydney, I would say that it was my first time properly touring Sydney and exploring every possibility the city has got to offer.

So here's how it went.

DAY 1

Taken right outside our hotel. (Lee St)

So we landed, recharged the OPAL card and took a train that leads us straight into the heart of the city. We headed for lunch first since it was well before check in time which is at 2pm, at Tim Ho Wan along George St. After filling our stomach we went to our initial checkin place, MAZE Backpackers and met with a little trouble. So I thought that the 6 of us were going to be in the same room, little did I know they didn't have a room for us but 6 separate beds in 4 separate rooms. Well, not to get too upset or disappointed with it, we took the keys and went up to see the rooms.

Little did we expect the place was a little musky. It smells, and we weren't too comfortable with the place that we headed out after checking in to discuss and search for another place. We ended up at Adina Apartment Hotel on Lee St with 2 rooms. Despite the commotion and my guiltiness, we still managed to have fun for the remaining days here in the city.

So our scheduled was pushed a few hours behind, not to fret as it was just a guideline for us. We went out hunting for food. Headed to Chinatown, a restaurant called Mother Chu's Taiwanese Cuisine Sydney (朱妈妈台湾小吃). We came across one of their vegetarian outlet on our way to the accommodation. Had our dinner there, and then took a stroll along Chinatown. As the sun set, we made our way to the Sydney Opera House by passing through the Chinese Garden of Friendship, and the Sydney International Convention Centre.

Somewhere pretty, Chinese Garden of Friendship.

We kind of splited up on our journey to the Opera House. But we still all got together at the Opera House for drinks in the end, and to enjoy the nightlife there. Which we can not get it back here in Launceston. (:/)  Do not ask about how much one way train ride cost, we didn't keep track of that. Though it is a rough estimate of $2.30 per way, and $15 when you enter and exit from the international airport stop.

We headed back to our hotel after the drinks. Our feet, especially mine, is hurting already, from all the walking. (That is why my ankle hasn't healed completely yet.) It was a good first day and more to come for the next few days!
